There is a clear difference between candidates Phil Hart and David Rawls. While both claim to be conservative, Mr. Rawls only calls himself a "fiscal conservative", implying that he is liberal in other areas. This proves to be true. In sharp contrast, Phil Hart is one of the few legislative candidates to whom we could apply the term "Constitutional Conservative". He knows and follows the Constitution, and has a voting record of true conservatism.

4. What is the purpose of Government? |

My opponent has spent his career in an environment, that of the public school system, which is normally where one would find a political liberal. He has no voting record to substantiate his claim that he is a conservative Republican." |

David Rawls' liberal connections abound, including:
- Records show he has only donated to Democrat election campaigns (link 1, 2),
- Wendy Jaquet, (Democrat, House Minority Leader) claims she recruited David Rawls to run against Phil Hart! (To be sought after by the most prominent Democrat in the Idaho House speaks volumes!)
Although both candidates claim to be Republicans, David Rawls departs from conservative ideals in many ways. He is just the type of Republican that Democrats want. We consider Mr. Rawls to be a true RINO.
